International Air Freight Quotations
Travel Cargo provides international air freight services to and from Sweden for personal effects, commercial cargo and other shipments where professional handling and accurate documentation are essential.
Requesting a quotation is quick and easy. Once we have received enough information about your shipment, destination and preferred transport solution, we will normally provide you with a tailored quotation as soon as possible.
Air freight rates are calculated individually and depend on several factors, including the destination, actual weight, volumetric weight, number of packages, available airline capacity, and current terminal and airline charges.
What information do we need?
To prepare an accurate quotation, we will normally require the following information:
- What you are shipping
- Destination (and collection address, if applicable)
- Number of packages
- Weight of each package
- Dimensions of each package
- Whether collection or terminal delivery is required
- Whether any special handling or documentation is needed.
Airlines calculate freight charges based on either the actual gross weight or the volumetric weight. The higher of the two will always be used for billing purposes.
Additional Charges
Depending on the shipment and destination, the following charges may apply in addition to the air freight cost:
- Export and terminal handling charges in Sweden
- Collection charges, where applicable
- VAT on certain types of shipments
- Terminal handling charges, local taxes, customs duties or other destination charges
Local charges at destination are generally outside our control and are normally payable directly upon arrival.
Volumetric Weight
For air freight, volumetric weight is normally calculated using the following formula:
Length × Width × Height (cm) ÷ 6000 = Volumetric Weight (kg)
Carrier Liability
Airlines operate with limited liability in the event of loss or damage during transport.
